The heart of the matter is: heart disease is scary. It’s the leading cause of death in the United States, and a major cause of disability.
But the good news is heart disease is largely preventable; so the more you understand about heart disease and the factors that contribute to it, the better chance you have of reducing your risk factors and improving your heart health.
To break down the complexities of heart disease, join board-certified cardiologist Khalid Al-Khafaji, MD, FACC, and board-certified interventional cardiologists Setri Fugar, MD, and Ajoe John Kattoor, MD, FACC, FSCAI, as they lead Northwest Health’s next HealthyU wellness seminar entitled The ABC’s of Heart Disease. The free event will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024 at the Health Foundation of La Porte, 140 East Shore Parkway in La Porte, Indiana.
During the presentation, Drs. Al-Khafaji, Fugar and Kattoor will dive into the causes and symptoms of several types of heart disease and share actionable steps to reduce your risks.
HealthyU is a wellness series developed by Northwest Health to provide the community with relevant health and wellness topics. The free seminars are geared to answer you and your families’ questions and provide simple steps to improve your quality of life and help you stay healthy.
