The La Porte High School Winter Color Guard competed at the Winter Guard International World Championships held in Dayton, OH, on April 6, 7, and 8. Prelims for the 47 Scholastic Open Class guards were held Thursday. The top 24 scoring guards advanced to the Friday semifinals and La Porte placed 19th in the prelims advancing them into the semifinals.
The top 15 scoring guards from semi-finals then advanced to the finals. La Porte placed 16th in the semifinals narrowly missing the finals by one placing and only 4 tenths of a point.
