The La Porte High School Winter Color Guard placed 2nd in the Scholastic Open Class finals competition at the Winter Guard International (WGI) Indianapolis Regional Championship held February 18 and 19 at Warren Central High School.
In the preliminary competition the guard also placed 2nd. Complete Scholastic Open Class finals are as follows:

- La Porte HS - 75.2
- Hamilton Southeastern HS - 73.5
- Plymouth Canton HS - 71.7
- Kokomo HS - 69.4
- Reeths-Puffer HS - 68.9
- Castle HS - 65.0
- Greenwood HS - 60.0
The next contest for the LPHS Winter Guard will be at a Midwest Color Guard Circuit contest at Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing, IL on February 26. LaPorte High School will host the Midwest Color Guard Circuit Championships on April 1 and 2. Information is available at www.midwestcolorguard.com.
