The La Porte High School Marching Band placed first in the Scholastic A Class at the Plymouth Harvest Festival of Bands held on Saturday, September 30. The band also won all caption awards including Best Music, Best General Effect, and Best Visual. Complete Scholastic A Class results:

The band will perform at 3:04 PM E.S.T. at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic Class State Prelims to be held at Homestead High School on October 7. Bands receiving a Gold Rating will advance to the ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals on October 21 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. The LPHS Marching Band is an eight time ISSMA State Finalist, 2014 ISSMA Scholastic A Class State Champion, and State Championship Runner-up in both 2015 and 2016.
