The LaPorte High School Marching Band received a Gold Division Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Scholastic A Class State Prelims held October 10, at Homestead High School, and advanced to the Scholastic Class State Finals. The band also received the designation of “With Distinction” for their high scores in all captions including music, general effect and visual performance.
The following Scholastic A Class bands qualified for the finals: LaPorte, Snider, Warsaw, Chesterton, Portage, Terre Haute South, Perry Meridian, Mount Vernon, Franklin, Warren Central, Terre Haute North, East Central, and Martinsville.
The ISSMA Scholastic Class State Finals will be held October 24 at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. La Porte will perform at 6:09 PM E.S.T. Complete schedules are available at www.issma.net.
