First look at new FanDuel Sportsbook at Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa
Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa is opening a brand new sportsbook facility in partnership with FanDuel and Boyd Gaming. The former night club, It’s Vegas Baby!, will debut as the sports betting area complete with live game coverage and theater seating tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
Hall of Fame great, Brian Urlacher, will be in attendance promoting FanDuel Sportsbook.
Approximately one year ago, the supreme court overturned the law that prohibited sports betting outside of the state of Nevada. Since then, Boyd Gaming has been opening sportsbook facilities all over the Midwest. Blue Chip’s FanDuel Sportsbook will be the biggest one outside the state of Nevada. Boyd Gaming has opened one sportsbook in Pennsylvania, two in Iowa, and another Indiana location opening next week.
“This is the crown jewel of the Midwest for us,” said David Straw, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Boyd Gaming. “What’s interesting about it is that sportsbooks are evolving into a more intimate space and a friendlier environment, and that’s what we’re trying to achieve here.”
In Vegas, sportsbooks are known to be cavernous with crowds of people. But Boyd Gaming and FanDuel are changing the game. With an opportunity to participate in a brand new form of gaming that was illegal in the past, folks have been lining up to try out the new system.
“I think what we’ve created here is an experience that goes beyond anything else in the market,” Straw said. “It’s not just about convenience of creating a place where you just go in and place a bet and leave, it’s about building an environment where people are comfortable watching the game.”
Boyd Gaming has put in the time and effort to create a special experience for guests. According to Joel Giannetti, Director of Marketing for Boyd Gaming, FanDuel Sportsbook is in a prime location right next to Blue Chip’s sports bar, The Game. The flow between the two will be effortless for betters who want a bite to eat.
“With FanDuel on this side and our sports bar and restaurant, The Game, combined, it’s like a sports enthusiasts’ heaven here,” Giannetti said. “They can come in, watch the game, place a bet, sit down and have lunch, have dinner, right here in our theater.”
Blue Chip is always on the prowl to provide something new and different to its clientele, keeping them at the top when it comes to competition in the area. Vice President and General Manager of Blue Chip, Brenda Temple, hopes to see new customers of all ages with the addition of sports betting.
“This is something, especially with the FanDuel brand, that was able to turn this part of our business into something bright, new, fresh, and fun that we can provide to new clients and those who come here regularly,” Temple said. “I’ve got a great team here at Blue Chip and we pride ourselves on great service. I would love for everyone to come here and meet our team and try out this new sportsbook.”
Come out tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. to Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa to get a head start on the newfound gaming and sports betting experience.
“Sportsbook adds a different flavor to a game that you didn’t have before,” Straw said. “Sports betting adds another layer of having a personal stake in the game.”
