Meeting of the La Porte County Indiana Genealogical Society September 2017

Sixteen members and guests enjoyed the program at the monthly meeting of the La Porte County Indiana Genealogical Society on September 12, 2017. The group met at the La Porte Park Department Headquarters.

After refreshments, the meeting continued with a program by the Residency Committee, with the annual award of certificates for people proving their descent from early settlers in La Porte County.

• Carol Lloyd received a First Family certificate for her ancestor, Benjamin Turman Bryant, and a Pioneer Family certificate for John Lloyd.
• Ron Hyer received a Pioneer Family certificate for George Walker.
• Bob Bernth received a Pioneer Family certificate for Karl Friedrich Krumm and Johanna Krumm;
• and a pioneer Family certificate for Louisa Zahrt.

The committee of Fern Eddy Schultz, Dottisue Gansemer, and Gloria Arndt reviewed the applications. President Dorothy Palmer assisted in the presentations.

On October 10, 2017, at 7 PM, the society will meet again at the Park Department. Guests are always welcome.

Our program will be “Bad Guys in Our Families.” Society members and guests may share sinister episodes which they have discovered in their research.
