FINAL SCORE: 66-51 LaPorte (Advances to the IHSAA Sectional Championship 3/8 against South Bend Riley HS)

TOP SCORERS:

Anthony Murphy (Michigan City- 18 Points)
Griffin Ott-Large (21 Points- LaPorte)
“I think LaPorte has been hungry for a win in a lot of our sports for a lot of years. Watching these boys every day in the hallway, they work really really hard at their craft. Nick, Reed, Griffin, Dustin, and Sawyer, all those guys; they put in the work every single day. They work tremendously hard. As a football coach too, I watch Reed, and really hits the backbone of the team of the team is Nick and their hard work. I think it means a ton for them and the community and we have one more left.” -Austin Epple (LaPorte HS School Resource Officer-Deputy)

“This means a lot to us. We haven’t won a sectional game since 2016 and we haven’t had a sectional championship since 2014 so this is our drive right now. We haven’t won in a long time, so we’re just trying to prove to everyone that Slicer basketball is back and we’re doing it all for the community. The pain of discipline is far less than the pain of dread.” Dan Ferguson (LaPorte).
