Rock the Block

Event Information

The year, Rock the Block, an annual community-wide Back to School celebration for kids in the LaPorte Community School Corporation will look a little different.

Thanks (or more appropriately "no thanks" to Covid-19) we cannot do the fun event on the lawn of the Civic, packed with thousands of attendees and volunteers. We are just as sad about that as you are!

However, thanks to American Licorice, we still have backpacks stuffed with supplies for community kids in need! Door Village Church is helping by adding backpacks for older kids, and Bethany Lutheran Church is offering a unique drive-thru location in town (and some special surprise treats for the registered cars).

As founding sponsors of Rock on the Block these organizations want to make this DRIVE-THRU Backpack and Supply Giveaway a quick and safe process for ou community. You can help us by following the rules that you find online and adhering to the scheduled times you are given for arrival.

The event drive-thru will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on August 5.

Please watch for police direction when you arrive.

Kids need not be present to receive backpacks, but you MUST have the registration you receive online printed out and attached to your front windshield VISIBLE for volunteers.
