Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., and the Hammond Faith Based Community invite the public to attend a virtual/in-person program to recognize the National Day of Prayer.
The live event will take place at the Dynasty Banquet Hall. A ticket will be required to enter the program at the Dynasty.
The event will also be streamed live on facebook.com and gohammond.tv.
The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. On May 5, 1988, President Ronald Reagan designated the first Thursday of May as a day of national prayer.
