Event Information
Each year, Healthcare Foundation of La Porte (HFL) provides grants for AEDs (automated external defibrillators). These annual grants help ensure our community has access to these life-saving devices. HFL works in conjunction with La Porte County EMS, through the AED Collective, to ensure our community has a safe, manageable, and efficient program to help people who are suffering a serious heart event have the best chance at survival and to help educate the community on the importance of AED maintenance and training.
This year, HFL awarded 35 AEDs, 29 AED cabinets, and corresponding AED signage. In total, HFL awarded $69,206 in AED grants in 2022.
Join us Friday, December 9, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the HFL Conference & Learning Center to celebrate our 2022 AED grantees and the expanded availability of AEDs in key locations in our community.
Sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the United States. Defibrillation from an AED is effective in helping people survive sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs save lives.
