Barker Mansion Hosts Private Blackout Tours

Barker Mansion Hosts Private Blackout Tours

Event Information

6:07pm - 6:07pm

The ghost of Diana of the Dunes, the haunted lighthouse, ghost trains, even Barker Mansion itself: local folklore has fascinated the people of Michigan City for decades. The eerie autumnal season is the perfect time to dive into the history of Michigan City legends with the Barker Mansion’s Private Blackout Tour: Myth, Lore, and Legend.

This is a new take on the classic Barker Blackout Tour: the lights are off but the stories are new, safely socially distanced. Tealights and glowsticks will illuminate the darkened rooms as each private tour group is guided through the mansion.

“This is more than just ghost stories,” explains Historical Interpreter Lillie Magers-Pershing. “We are all fascinated by things we can’t explain. This tour will focus on those stories and how they came to be.”

Advance group tickets are required for the event, walk-ups are not permitted. Tours will be offered on October 23, and 24, with timed entry tickets every 15 minutes from 7pm to 9:30pm. Recommended age is 10+ and masks are required. Reservations for time slots are $50 for a group of up to 6 in your quarantine circle. Tickets available at barkermansion.com or by calling the Mansion at (219) 873-1520. The Barker Mansion is located at 631 Washington St, downtown Michigan City.
