If you haven't been out to Sunset Grille in Michigan City, then keep your weekend free and head on down as they have a boatload of fun activities and events all summer long.
Located right along the gem of Indiana, Lake Michigan, Sunset Grille is a great go-to spot due to its prime location and view.
The lower-level concession offers beachgoers a spot to grab lunch, a snack, or beverages during a hot summer day at the lakefront. After grabbing lunch, customers can then enjoy it in the shade of Sunset Grille's lower-level patio.
Open at 4 p.m., the Sunset Grille rooftop cantina has light bites and a full bar.
Walking along the shore of Lake Michigan you might even catch yourself hearing some live music, as Sunset Grille is famous for its live music nights.
Some bands and artists they’ve had featured on their stage include Mary Elizabeth Champagne, Neek, Quinn Guillermo, Jim St. James Band, Shane Lindeman, Chris Burch, Dan Reisen, Jeff Robinson, Neil Allesee, Soul Shine, and Nicholas Kazonis.
The live music starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. every Sunday and Tuesday.
Other events that Sunset Grille has offered this summer include the fireworks party to benefit the Washington Park Zoo, the beloved Grand Prix that was held on Lake Michigan. Sunset Grille also works with Franciscan Hospital, whether that's to do their employee appreciation in the cancer center or taking their customers on a fishing charter.
After summer events die down, the wedding season begins. Patrick’s Grille, Sunset Grille's sister restaurant, hosts many other events and catering throughout the year – weddings being one of them.
Not only does Patrick's Grille do weddings, but it also brings entertainment to any party needed including the several anniversary parties they have done recently.
While there are events going on all summer for everyone to love, Sunset Grille is rebuilding itself after the year of COVID-19.
Sunset Grille is a part of Women in Leadership, the League of Women Voters, and the Rotary Club. Before everything got shut down, they had breweries that came in and did tap takeovers, which they hope to bring back soon.
“It's just getting all those back right now we're just trying to rebuild since everything got shut down,” said Julie Krause, Sunset Grille Events and Catering Manager. “So right now, my goal is to rebuild to where we once were.”
The mission at Sunset Grille is for this to be your go-to destination when you come to Michigan City to come down to the beach, for you to have the “This is where I want to be” mindset.
Not only does Sunset Grille have these amazing events to keep you busy all summer long it also has an amazing cuisine to satisfy your hunger and the best view of Lake Michigan that captures the ever so perfect sunset over the water.
