World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

ymca-logo-red-orangeThousands of children around the globe are participating in The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ to help beat the second leading cause of unintended, injury related death of children ages 1-14. A group of excited kids and families will be on site at The La Porte County Family YMCA Jones Family Pool to participate in this global event.

What: The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ Guinness World Record attempt for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson ever conducted.

When: Tuesday June 18, 2013 9:00 am: Media check-in begins 9:00 am: WLSL event kick off 10:00 am: WLSL world record attempt begins

Where: La Porte County Family YMCA 901 Michigan Ave La Porte, IN 46350

Why: The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ was created to spread the word that Swimming Lessons Save Lives™ – tragically, drowning is the second leading cause of unintended, injury related death of children ages 1-14. Research shows if a child doesn’t learn to swim before the 3rd grade, they likely never will.

Interview/Visuals: Vanessa Franklin, Marketing Coordinator will be available for interviews, visuals of children and adults participating in the world record attempt lesson taking place simultaneously in an estimated 16 countries and 40 + states/territories in the US.
