Word Class 2 and More Events

Bits and Bytes will continue at Westchester Public Library with a Microsoft Word 2 class for adults on Thursday, March 6. The class will be held from 1-4 pm in the Bertha Wood meeting room located on the second floor of Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave., Chesterton.

Registration is necessary due to the limited number of computers available and will begin February 20. To reserve your spot, visit or call the Serials Department or register online at http://www.wpl.lib.in.us/. Click on the Bits and Bytes link. The class is free of charge.

Registrants must be proficient with the mouse and familiar with Word basics.

Attendees will learn basic formatting skills, including bullets, numbering tabs, columns, etc. Those who attend will also learn how to insert clip art, use word art, create labels and more.

Celebrate National Fake Mustache Day at WPL

Celebrate National Fake Mustache Day at Westchester Public Library on Mustache Monday, February 24. Visit both branches of the library – Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, from 9 am-9 pm, or Hageman Library, 100 Francis Street, Porter, from 9 am -5 pm – as well as the Westchester Township History Museum, 700 W. Porter Avenue, Chesterton, from 1 pm-5 pm sporting either a real or fake mustache.

Throughout the day there will be mustache-related activities for all age groups. Enjoy the displays featuring mustache-related library materials and moustache trivia. Library staff will even don fake and/or real mustaches!

News at Noon @ Hageman Library

If you love to discuss current events, Westchester Public Library's monthly news discussion program is for you. Interested adults are invited to News at Noon at Hageman Library, 100 Francis Street, Porter, on Thursday, February 20, from noon-1 p.m. Registration is not necessary but is recommended. Attendance at the program is free of charge.

Whether you get your news from the newspaper, magazines, or the Internet, join the discussion on issues and events happening in the world today and sample other viewpoints. Attendees are encouraged to bring a news clipping or an idea of something they would like to discuss.
