Wolves, Slicers Represented on 2013 Girls Soccer All-DAC Team

Michigan-City-WolvesPaige Tharp and Sarah Thurman of Michigan City and Tiarra Spikes of La Porte were all named to the All-Duneland Athletic Confernce girls soccer team on Friday.

Chesterton's Bridget Brendza was named the league's Most Valuable Player as the Trojans finished in first place in the conference.

Brendza also led a list of five Chesterton athletes on the All-DAC team, which was also announced Friday. She was joined by teammates Madisyn Coudriet, Kristin Mabry, Anne Marie Radzik and Bethany Molnar.

laporte-slicersAlso on the All-Conference team were Jenna Arnold, Meghan Morasan, Lauren O'Keefe, Katrina Ornelas and Taryn Spisak, all of Crown Point; Lauren Reineke, Kristina Veljovic, and Grace Withrow; of Valparaiso, Lindsay Kusbel, Abigail Peppin, Brianna Dougherty, and Lyana Burrink of Lake Central; Alyssa Bailey and Shaquita Dillard of Merrillville; and Alexis McDaniels of Portage.

In the overall standings, Chesterton was followed by Crown Point, Lake Central, Valparaiso, Merrillville, Michigan City, Portage and La Porte.
