Recently Jack Arnett, executive director of the La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau was elected, the new president of Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission (NITDC) Board of Directors, and was further honored by being asked to serve on the board of Association of Indiana Convention and Visitors Bureaus (AICVB).
Jack commented that, "NITDC is a great organization and to be put into a leadership position by my peers and other directors is a great honor. Following in the footsteps of past industry leaders is very humbling."
"AICVB is a state organization just like other associations for other industries and it is just a strong as the members want to make it. I felt there needed to be a new direction and I will work hard to enhance our position in La Porte County and the region."
"This year we will position ourselves to help our partners connect so that we can now truly effect and grow the economy in the entire county. Over the next five years we will continue to achieve our long range goals, to bring all communities to the understanding and desire to work together. I see us continuing down that path."
"The new branding and the brand promise that we rolled out a couple of years ago were based on what the customers had to say about the county. This study was done on a scientific basis and we will continue to fine tune our brand by paying attention to what our customers have to say."
"Marketing our attractions and destinations is what we do best. Our CVB is accredited internationally and so folks should look to our staff as competent professionals in this arena. Our CVB and our association with NITDC and AICVB allows us to do the very best marketing and promotion for our county because of our ability to leverage the partners dollars to get the very best "bang for their buck". It just makes sense to put our resources together to achieve the same goal."
