New Media Journalist:
GreatNews.Life, publishers of Valpo.Life, Portage.Life, LaPorteCounty.Life, and NWI.Life, is seeking a New Media Journalist to join our part-time news coverage team. The ideal candidate will be driven and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic, committed to the Life Site mission of connecting our community with exclusively positive news, all day, every day.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Attending and reporting on local events, meetings, and feature stories
- taking clear and engaging photos and videos
- writing engaging, informative, and entertaining articles about places, events, and people
- Engaging with people in the community and positively on social media to promote the content created for our four sites, and serving as an ambassador for good news in the communities we serve
- Meeting tight deadlines
- Being available to work nights and weekends
- Being an effective communicator both in person and electronically via email, social media, and Google Drive apps
- Having reliable transportation and the ability to communicate with the editorial team via phone while covering events.
