Washington Stage Theatre Announces the Winner of the Midwest Play Writers Contest

Washington-Stage-TheatreT. James Belich of Saint Paul Minnesota has been selected as the 2014 winner of the Theatre's Playwriting Contest. "The Captain's Treasure" will be produced in the Washington Stage Theatre at 111 Roosevelt Street in La Porte, on May 9-11. Open Auditions for all parts will be held this coming Sunday at 2 pm, and Monday at 6:30 pm.

The outrageous comedy has seven cast parts available (4 male and 3 female): Backstage positions are also available.

CAPITANO SPAVENTO (M), a Spanish captain less brave than he boasts
ARLECCHINO (M), the CAPITANO's servant
PANTALONE (M), a rich but miserly widowed merchant
LUCINDA (F), PANTALONE's daughter
RUFFIANA (F), aunt to LUCINDA and sister-in-law to PANTALONE
COLUMBINA (F), maid to LUCINDA
LELIO (M), in love with LUCINDA
