Washington Park Zoological Society Receives Donation in 2017

Washington-Park-Zoological-Society-Receives-Donation-in-2017The Washington Park Zoological Society would like to acknowledge the Otto J. and Margaret M. Zack Charitable Trust, Bank of America, N.A. Trustee for awarding us a grant for 2017 in the amount of $80,000. This grant is to be used to purchase and install 2 generators along with food and medical expenses for the animals.

This is the 5th year that they have awarded us a grant. First in 2013 it was $20,000 towards animal food. In 2014 it was $60,000- $20,000 for animal food and $40,000 to purchase a freezer/cooler combination unit. 2015 it was $100,000 for repair to our petting barn roof, create a Medical treatment Area, Purchase food and medical expenses for the animals. In 2016 we were awarded $120,000 for creation of a Vet Clinic and food and medical expenses for the animals.

We are extremely grateful for their support. The grants we have received from them have allowed us to provide better care for the animals and create a better zoo.

The Otto J. and Margaret M Zack Charitable Trust was awarded to the Washington Park Zoological Society as a 501C3 non for profit organization. Over the past five years the Washington Park Zoological Society has been able to contribute over $450,000 to the zoo with the help of grants, donations and fundraisers.

It is the goal of the Washington Park Zoological Society to engage and promote in activities that will stimulate civic interest in and the development of the entire Washington Park Zoo area and enhance the viability of the Washington Park Zoo area and its facilities.
