Wares of Medieval Times, Comic & Caricature Art, Papercut Artist and Author Highlight November First Friday in Michigan City

Michigan-City-Mainstreet-AssociationThe Michigan City Mainstreet Association presents the First Friday Art Walk in the Uptown Arts District on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. The Art Walk features many businesses hosting an array of artists and entertainment for free enjoyment for visitors.

Stroll into Paris House of Bridal to see Sandy Armstrong's unique wine bottle and cheese tray art. Seeing Red debuts at the Southern Shore Art Association featuring their Annual Camera Club Exhibit. You'll find a brand new lantern tower at the Old Lighthouse Museum and be a part of the unveiling of Wendy Wilcox Kermen's painting of the Washington Park Zoo at The Framing Station. Steven Skinner of BlackTree Studio Pottery will be featured at Walnut Ink Projects and there are four separate exhibits waiting for you to soak up at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts especially if you like the Sun and Comics. Plus there is much, much, more art happening this month.

The Art Walk is not only visual as music abounds in the district this month. Maxine's is hosting The Appleseed Collective, a band that weaves Dixieland, Bluegrass, Ragtime and more into their soulful music. The Pickle & Turnip are featuring Peter Nye's brand of distinctly Americana music. SonorCentric, an accoustic, alternative duo experiment with sound at the Mainstreet Theatre, plus don't miss the First Friday Open Stage there as well.
