Volunteers Sought for 2014 Michigan City Police Department Easter Egg Hunt

mcpd-easter-egg-hunt-2014On Tuesday April 15, from 8 a.m. until we are done, we will be filling the plastic eggs with candy. This will take place in the Senior Center located in Washington Park. Refreshments and drinks will be provided throughout the day. Please stop in for a few hours to assist. All volunteers are welcome.

On Saturday, April 19 starting at 8 a.m. volunteers will be needed to assist with the placement of the Easter eggs in Fedders Alley. Volunteers should meet at 8 a.m. inside the Michigan City Senior Center. The volunteers will then be directed to Fedders alley where we will be placing the eggs in the lawn area.

Later that day, Mayor Ron Meer and the members of the Michigan City Police Department will be hosting their annual “Easter Egg Hunt.” This year we will be holding the event in Fedders alley located in Washington Park. Starting at 10 a.m. Captain Ed and the Washington Park Zoo will be on hand to entertain the children. At 11 a.m. sharp we will start the “hunt.” Everyone is strongly encouraged to arrive early, as last year traffic was backed up on Lakeshore Drive at the start of the hunt. The actual hunt will start at 11 a.m. rain or shine.
