Congressman Pete Visclosky stated, “I congratulate the communities of Portage and Griffith for their diligence to successfully obtain these outstanding LWCF grant awards and improve our region’s quality of place. I have been a strong supporter of the LWCF through the House Appropriations Committee, and I believe that this program is essential for communities in Northwest Indiana and throughout our nation to enhance public access to our parks and outdoor recreational opportunities.”
