Valentine’s Day Celebration at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum Scheduled for Saturday, February 21st

2015-La-Porte-County-Historical-Society-Museum-Valentines-Day-01It’s that time of year again when the La Porte County Historical Society displays its vast collection of vintage Valentines. The Valentines are on display in the period rooms at the museum. Paper lace cutouts with romantic sayings, 3-dimensional stand-up cards, and many colorful, nostalgic images grace these long-ago works of art. The antique Valentines will be on display at the museum till the end of February 2015.

On Valentines Day, Saturday, February 21st at 1 P.M. in the meeting room at the museum, a Valentines’ day Tea will be held. On the schedule will be refreshments, music by “Sentimental Journey”, the reading of “The Great Loves of La Porte County” and more! Come and enjoy the afternoon at the museum.

In the museum gift shop, Valentine reproductions are now for sale. Some of the images have come from the archives of the La Porte County Historical Society. Also for sale are the softest and cutest Teddy bears ever. They’re just right for that special someone.
