Unlocking the Benefits of the Purdue Federal SEG Program

What if being part of your entity came with financial perks, tailored benefits, and resources to help your stakeholders save time and money? That’s exactly what Purdue Federal Credit Union offers through their Select Employee Groups (SEGs).

If your organization isn’t yet a Purdue Federal SEG, here’s everything you need to know about the benefits this offers and why it might make sense to become a SEG.

What are Purdue Federal SEGs?

“Businesses, organizations, schools and universities, and places of worship can all become a Purdue Federal SEG, and the process has no cost,” said Matt Scheuer, Purdue Federal account vice president of business development in Northwest Indiana.

Becoming a SEG doesn’t cost your organization a penny. That’s right, there’s no fee to become a SEG. Once approved as a SEG, your stakeholders gain a full suite of financial benefits that aim to make life a little easier and more rewarding.

Why become a SEG?

“As a federally chartered credit union with a Multiple Common Bond charter, individuals must qualify for Purdue Federal membership before they can open an account,” said Jeff Love, Purdue Federal senior account vice president of business development. “They are eligible for membership by working, volunteering, attending school, or worshipping at entities that are SEGs of Purdue Federal.”

Here are some standout benefits for SEGs:

1. Exclusive Financial Products

Individuals enjoy access to fewer fees and competitive rates on loans and deposit products.

2. Surcharge-Free ATM Access

With a network of 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide, Purdue Federal members are never far from their money, no matter where life takes them.

3. Free Financial Counseling

Navigating financial waters can be tricky, but Purdue Federal offers free financial counseling to members, providing a helping hand when it comes to budgeting, credit advice, and more.

4. Wellness Presentations and Resources

Financial wellness isn’t just a buzzword. Members gain access to educational presentations and resources, empowering them to make smarter money decisions every day.

5. Digital Banking at Your Fingertips

Life moves fast, and so does your money. Purdue Federal’s robust digital banking platform gives members 24/7 access to their accounts, making managing finances a breeze on any device.

What Makes Becoming a SEG Worth It?

For organizations, becoming a SEG is a no-brainer. It’s a free way to enhance employee, member, or volunteer satisfaction, offering tangible benefits that contribute to their financial wellness.

“Working with our SEGs means I get to connect with some great businesses and support their employee wellness goals—whether that’s through financial wellness presentations, workplace visits, or just being a resource they can count on.” said Lindsey Kilty, Purdue Federal community relations specialist.

Purdue Federal’s team works closely with SEG entities to tailor services and offerings, ensuring they’re meeting the unique needs of each group.
