Additionally, students have the opportunity to become a licensed certified nursing assistant (CNA) or learn phlebotomy, the practice of drawing blood.

The University of Saint Francis Crown Point is also known to keep their class sizes small, offering a unique experience that boosts a student’s likelihood to succeed. According to the National Education Policy Center (NEPC), smaller class sizes offer personalized education, a better educational climate, and higher chances for achievement. The average class size at USF is about 24 students. Clinical class sizes are even smaller with eight students for every instructor. The majority of the professors at USF have professional experience in the nursing field. The close proximity of USF and Franciscan Health Franciscan Point is not by mistake. The university and the hospital partner, giving students hands-on experiences with internships, technology, and career connections for life after graduation.
