More than 700 high school seniors were nominated to play basketball in the McDonald’s All American Games. Of the nine boys nominated from the state of Indiana, five are La Lumiere School students: Brian Bowen, Isaiah Coleman Lands, Jacob Epperson, Jaren Jackson, and Jordan Poole. From the 700+ nominees nationally, 24 boys and 24 girls were selected to make up the East and West teams, and two of the 24 boys chosen are La Lumiere School seniors who will play in the 40th Annual McDonald's All-American Game.
Brian Bowen, a 6-foot-7 forward from Saginaw, Michigan; and Jaren Jackson Jr., a 6-foot-11 power forward and Michigan State signee from Carmel, Indiana; have the privilege of playing on the West team as two of the 24 top seniors in the nation. The boys game will be played at the United Center in Chicago on Wednesday, March 29 at 6 p.m. CT, and will be aired on ESPN.
La Lumiere School is the only school in the nation to have two scholar athletes selected to play on the 2017 team. The McDonald’s All American teams represent the finest high school basketball talent in the county. McDonald’s honors these students for their success on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
