At its June meeting, League members recognized Alexa and Mason Kosior for their demonstrated commitment to community service. Both were active in many groups, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, and school advisory councils.

Mason was awarded the Jack Whitted Scholarship and will attend Purdue University pursuing an engineering design degree. Jack was a strong creative force behind the innovative Service League play sets for many years, as his wife Georgia was a long-time active member and actress on-stage. This award commemorates his invaluable volunteer support.

Alexa received the La Porte Service League Scholarship and she also will attend Purdue, majoring in communications and art. The Service League Scholarship is presented to a student in an art-related field.
