Tudor Floors & More Carpet One celebrated their 50th year of business this year with the grand opening of their new location on US-30. Tudor started as a mom-and-pop-shop back in 1969 and has grown to one of the areas largest retailers for flooring and cabinetry. To celebrate, the Tudor’s threw a party for the community with drinks provided by Four Fathers Brewing and LambStone Cellars Winery, catering from Birky Family Farms, and live entertainment by The Double Features.
As a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Tudor wanted to showcase their new building and celebrate with an official ribbon cutting. Vendors involved were all supporters of the Chamber and came out to support their fellow local business. Administrative Assistant at Tudor, Courtney McDougall, helped arrange the after-hours party and was excited to have such a great turn out.
“It feels like we’ve been here forever, the transition has been so smooth in getting here and I can’t believe we’ve only been here since April,” McDougall said. “This is just a really fun event and is more than just a ribbon-cutting, it’s a celebration.”
A few years ago when their lease was nearing its end, the Tudor’s decided to seek out a new location that they could grow into. Something with an open concept, bright lighting, easy access, and good flow, which is exactly what they received with the former Orville Redenbacher Popcorn outlet. Jan Tudor, President and Co-Owner of Tudor, is proud to be a part of a family-owned company that sticks to its roots and continues to grow.
“I love the business. The reason for our longevity is our commitment to customer service and our ties to the community,” Tudor said. “I really believe that family and friends are the core of any existence, you can’t do anything alone.”
At Tudor, employees don’t make commission, so customers can be confident that they’re getting the best price. Tudor cares about their employees and their customers and work to offer the best customer service available. Jenna Wong, Media and Marketing Assistant at Tudor, loves working for the family company and is excited to see how this new location will serve even more people.
“Everyone here is treated like family and our customers like the fact that we take the time to understand what they want their space to look like,” Wong said. “It’s such a fun work environment and our customers can see that.”
Pat Wong, Jan Tudor’s sister, could not put into words how proud of her sister she was. Seeing the family business continue to grow and become more and more successful is more than she could have ever hoped for.
“I’m so proud of Jan in what she has accomplished over the years,” Pat said. “Seeing mom pass it down to the next generation and now Jan looking forward to doing the same, really takes me back and I couldn’t be more proud.”
