The Battle of La Porte County was hu-yuge this year with both La Porte High School and Michigan City High School being "up". Ames Field was packed with a ton of people looking for some good football, including us!

Of all the events we see throughout the year, graduations and commencements are the ones that most embody our good news mission. To see all the hard work put in and out of the classroom by students, parents, teachers, coaches, families and friends culminate in one event, with everyone across the school celebrating the same thing, it's just awesome.
2016 Michigan City St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Michigan City makes St. Patrick’s day a family event with its annual parade. On March 12th 2016 neighbors from all around the region gathered on Franklin St. to celebrate a holiday of merriment and religion. Floats made from several organizations dazzled the crowd with their creativity, musical talent, and soaring candy.

La Porte County is a tight-knit place where people take the time to get to know each other, talk with each other, and share what is happening around their communities. At the beginning of the football season, the talk around the shops and streets in La Porte and New Carlisle centers around one small object that means something much bigger: a milkjug.

La Porte County Family YMCA Triathlon 2016

Triathlons are not for the unmotivated. The combination of a quarter-mile swim, 12.4-mile bike ride and a 3.4-mile run is a tough feat for anyone. Despite the challenges, over 300 participants decided to take up the 37th Annual La Porte County Family YMCA Triathlon on Saturday morning. Athletes of all paces and ages took part in another fantastic run of the triathlon, one that couldn’t happened on a more gorgeous morning.
2016 La Porte Jaycees 4th of July Parade

The Fourth of July is not just another day in La Porte. The day starts off for many, around 60,000 people to be specific, crowded along Lincolnway watching the La Porte Jaycees’ annual Fourth of July Parade. The parade, which hosts 120 groups, is one of the largest in Northwest Indiana. With hundreds of participants, tens of thousands of watchers, and statewide recognition it’s no wonder that La Porte takes such pride in their annual celebration.

United Way of La Porte County Annual Gala: 1950's USO - 2016

United Way of La Porte County honored local veterans with their annual fundraiser gala at the Blue Chip Casino on Friday night. Camouflage colors, USO inspired attire, and military uniforms mixed with elegance, filled the room as over 400 attendees enjoyed food and drinks from local establishments while bidding on over 130 incredible raffle prizes. Throughout the evening, entertainment was abound as 1950’s themed dancers entertained the crowd and a DJ spun music to get the whole crowd moving. The theme of the night, United-Serving Others, was apparent as everyone graciously thanks all the veteran attendees for their service.
