The Wolves Wire June 2014

MC Wolves logoIn last month’s Wolves Wire, I spoke about the students of Michigan City High School that were on track to finish with the highest graduation rate ever recorded, the highest attendance rate, the most dual credits earned, and the highest grade that we have ever earned since school accountability was established by the federal government and state in 2001-2002. I am glad to say that our data is looking very promising and it appears we will meet our goals that were established for the 2013-14 school year. Starting with Michigan City High School being accredited by AdvancED for the next five years, it is clear that we are heading in the right direction due to the support of our parents, community, and the hard work and dedication of our parents and students.

Are you ready? This has been my question to our students this year, and the answer is a clear yes. Our seniors have earned over 1.6 million dollars in scholarships this year, further proof that great things take place at Michigan City High School. Our seniors havemade my first year as principal a year I will never forget. With many changes in programming, leadership, and other distractions, they have forged their place in Wolves history as one of the most resilient graduating classes.

As we look to the next chapter, 2014-15, great things are in place for our students such as the Early College and Honors College. There will be more academic honors courses available, increased technology, as well as more opportunities for dual credits through the Career Center.

Thank you for your support in making this a very successful school year, enjoy your summer, and as always, to find out why Michigan City High School is on the rise, you can follow us on Twitter and Instagram, Like us on Facebook.
