The Michigan City Mainstreet Association presents the First Friday Art Walk in the Uptown Arts District on April 3, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm. The Art Walk features local merchants hosting an array of artists and entertainment for free enjoyment for visitors.
Join Chef Bizzaro Millinery at the first ever Community Hat Parade Fashion Show, happening at 5:15 starting at The Closet and promenading down the sidewalks of the District, featuring community members in vogue hats. Stop in to the Framing Station to view the latest South Shore poster release “Community Nursing” by Neil Kientz. Investigate the Old Lighthouse Museum’s artist of the month, Kris Eades Cook and her watercolors. Awe yourself with a sculpture exhibit, “Art in Dazzling Dimensions” at the Southern Shore Art Association. Create art at a pop-up art show featuring student art pieces sponsored by Dunebrook and CASA Family Advocates at 725 Franklin Street. And there’s plenty more, metal wall sculptures, geometric misfits in ceramic, spinning fibers into yarn, old school wooden skateboards, and even more!
Or why not let the music wash over you by discovering Peter Nye and Dan Moser at the Pickle & Turnip or feel the vibes at the Mainstreet Theatre with Doug Post and his impressive guitar picking style and distinctive vocals followed by Open Mic night. Be there and stay all night long.
