The Popular “Dining with Diabetes: Meal Planning & Cooking School” is Coming to Hanna

Purdue-ExtensionDo you or someone you care about have Type 2 Diabetes? Purdue Extension’s Dining with Diabetes program will help you select and prepare healthy, easy to make, and tasty meals! Bring in your favorite recipes for a makeover, enjoy a light meal featuring recipes from the Dining with Diabetes collection, and learn important information about how to make a positive lifestyle change. Topics include planning a healthy meal made with “My Plate”, using sweeteners; reducing sodium, fat and carbohydrates; increasing fiber; eating out and healthy choices at parties and celebrations.

The class will begin on Thursday, April 16, 2015 and continues on Thursdays, April 30, May 7 and May 14 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Hanna United Methodist Church, 101 W. Hopper St, Hanna, IN.

Scholarships are available for those needing financial assistance. Otherwise, the course fee is $25.00 per person or $30.00 when attending with a friend and sharing materials.
