Untitled-1Mark your calendars to attend the 13th Annual Awards Dinner. The event will be held at the Moose Family Center #980 at 1108 Franklin Street in Michigan City. Reservations are highly recommended as we have limited seating. The ticket price offers you a cocktail hour starting from 5:00 with a full stocked cash-bar with drinks at reasonable prices. Dinner will be served at 6:30, and what a great meal it is. It will consist of fried chicken, bone in ham, sausage and sauerkraut, California-mix vegetables, potatoes, salad and bread and butter. Two delicious cakes will also be available for dessert. At 7:30 the Awards Program will begin with the introduction of Footlight’s very own “man-about-town” Joe Blanchard. The first award of the evening will be inducting Marsha Markle into the Footlight Hall of Fame. The officers and Board of Directors are proud to present this honor to this hard-working, loyal member. Then Footlight Theater Award winners are announced for 15 theatrical related categories. (see list of categories and nominees below) The evening will also highlight 5 musical selections from some of the cast members and the Hidden Talent Awards that are voted on by the casts and directors go to those behind the scene workers who rarely get any recognition. Between 5:30 and the beginning of Act II their famous silent auction is held with a huge amount of gift-cards and art objects and jewelry. The closing of the event comes when President Robert W. Komendera presents the prestigious President’s Award. The whole crowd pitches in on the clean-up and gathering all their silent auction prizes, and the committee that puts on this delightful affair gets start in planning for the next year, our 14th Awards night for our 70TH SEASON!
