Sandi Hillegonds, realtor from The Lisa Mullins Team, displayed the Providence Real Estate home in Aberdeen. She was pleased to greet fresh faces to a new home to guide them in the right direction.

“It’s a wonderful day,” Hillegonds said. “People get an easy opportunity to see what’s out there. They get the chance to speak with different builders to help themselves for the future. In Aberdeen, there’s plenty of amenities such as the golf course, soccer fields and the swimming pool.”

Theresa Casillas, broker associate at Realty Executives Premier, discusses how long the Parade of Homes event has been in place. This year, she was helping out those that came to see the houses built by Lennar.

“There are six communities for Lennar throughout Northwest Indiana,” Casillas said. “I’ve been in real estate for seven years and this has been an annual event for us. It’s great to help answer the questions of the people coming in.”

Lennar’s communities are based in Crown Point, Cedar Lake, Portage, Winfield, Valparaiso and Lowell. The latter three each held a location for Tour 17.

Another builder that held a showing for a home in Valparaiso was Havyn Homes. Michael Graziczny, owner and CEO at Havyn Homes, describes how they work to accommodate any situation for a potential homebuyer.

“We have the full team that it takes to not only build the home, but also think about the whole design and efficiency,” Graziczny said. “We spend time talking about the number of people that would be in the home and family events to help potential homebuyers through the whole process.”

Brandon Stack, vice president of operations at Havyn Homes, says that the house in Valparaiso is a qualified Energy Star home.

“Our goal is to always try to be innovative and push the market better,” Stack said. “In this home, we have lower operation costs and more insulation in the walls. There’s so many little details here and we analyze each part to put everything together in an effective way.”

The Home Builders Association’s mission is to promote the American Dream of home ownership through affordable housing while giving homeowners the best experience for their benefit.

“We’re not trying to just build a house, but also a legacy,” Graziczny said. “Our decisions are always based on the bigger picture, whether it’s for the homeowner or the company. We want to build houses that will last for the long haul.”

Other participating builders for the parade include Dabrowski Construction, D.R. Hunter, Fisher Construction, Heartland Builders and Viking Built Homes.
