The City of Whiting Celebrates Halloween 2016 All Weekend Long

Whiting-Halloween-LogoFall is upon us and the City of Whiting is gearing up for costumes, sweets, and Trick-or-Treats. Join us for our annual Halloween festivities including Whiting’s FOP Haunted Hayride, Halloween Costume Parade, and of course Trick-or-Treating on Halloween Night.

Kicking it off is the City of Whiting’s annual Halloween Parade, taking place on Saturday, October 29th at 1:30 p.m. down 119th Street, Downtown Whiting. Parade lineup is at 1:00 p.m. at 119th St. & New York Ave., alongside the Chase Bank parking lot. The parade will start at 119th St. & New York Ave. at 1:30 p.m., continue west down 119th Street, south on Clark Street, and end at the Whiting Family YMCA where goodie bags will be distributed to the children. Join us for this family-fun opportunity to march through Downtown Whiting in your costumes, see a magic performance, and grab your goodie bags at the Whiting Family YMCA!

Then, prepare for chills, thrills and excitement for all ages on October 29th, 30th, and 31st at the FOP Haunted Hayride at Whihala Beach, located at 1561 Park Road in Whiting. The annual Haunted Hayride, sponsored by the Whiting Fraternal Order of Police, will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $5.00, which includes a hayride that weaves along the dark and twisting beach trail, concessions, a bounce house, and a variety of Halloween games and activities for those less daring.

Trick-or-Treat hours this year will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31st. We hope to see you at this year’s Haunted Hayride and Halloween Parade.
