One early morning church leadership was awakened by calls of an attender saying the church building was on fire and firemen were battling the blaze. The building on 11th st. had been struck by lightening.
Without a safe place to worship, Lambs Chapel in Laporte offered the use of their building on Saturday nights! The people of the Bride church accepted the kind offer and never missed a beat. Pastor Aaron Podgorski and his church leaders were very thankful yet began a search for a new church home.
After viewing a number of prospective buildings finally chose 110 w 9th st. The building was once a restaurant and bar. The church knew this would be a unique place of worship and a great central location for worship and service to the community. Following some renovations and prayer worship continues and people stroll in for a meal but discover a loving, growing church community. The church left due to the fire but their heart stayed in Michigan City. Fellowship with a snack or meal awaits the worshiper down in the area that once was a bar. They hope many will come and see, then go and tell!
