The 3rd Annual South Shore Leadership: Leaders as Heroes Banquet

Angie-Nelson-Deuitch-Marty-CorleyThe 3rd Annual South Shore Leadership “ Leaders as Heroes” banquet was recently held at Avalon Manor in Hobart. More than 300 attendees witnessed 12 regional leaders being honored for making an impact in their communities.

The goal of the South Shore Leadership Awards is to recognize those "unsung heroes" in the community who are paving the way to a better tomorrow through their community involvement, but have not yet been fully recognized for their efforts.

The twelve regional leaders were recognized as finalists, and five award winners were announced that evening. La Porte county residents Marty Corley, Narcotics Detective, Michigan City Police Department and Angela Nelson Deuitch Public Affairs Manager, NIPSCO were among the five award winners recognized for their outstanding service to the community.

“We are pleased to learn of this outstanding recognition for Marty and Angie, and grateful to the South Shore Leadership organization for providing a forum to recognize good community leadership,” stated Monica Komasinski, Executive Director at Leadership La Porte County. “Marty and Angie are alumni of the Leadership La Porte County adult program and their commitment in giving their time, talent and treasure to the community is unparalleled.”
