Thanks from The Salvation Army of La Porte!

salvation-army-logoThe Salvation Army of LaPorte, Indiana would like to express thanks to our generous community and to Pastor Billy Nickrand for his recent accomplishment of the "World Record" for Bell Ringing. It was exciting to see the community come out and provide Pastor Billy and The Salvation Army of LaPorte with such overwhelming support.

Pastor Billy was able to surpass his goal as he raised over $6,300 in kettle donations! We were humbled and inspired by Pastor Billy's efforts to bring attention to the needs of our community through his arduous 60 hour bell ringing marathon. This effort will help provide literally hundreds in our community with services such as food, clothing, and other basic needs.

Billy's heart was on display for 60 hours and what we witnessed was the heart of Christ reaching out to the least of these in our midst. For those who were there it was an experience never to be forgotten. For many, a life changing experience.

The Salvation Army of LaPorte again wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Pastor Billy, The Door Village United Methodist Church, Kroger's for their incredible hospitality and to the community of LaPorte for generously reaching out in love to our neighbors in need this Christmas season. We also want to thank the many media outlets for their coverage including print, online, radio and television media that helped get the word out about this effort. Your efforts made this amazing adventure one that many could share even though they could not be there in person.

Blessings and Merry Christmas to all in our remarkable community.
