Teens Invited to a Pollinator Workshop at Lubeznik Center for the Arts

Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is inviting teens to a pollinator workshop on Thursday, September 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. as part of LCA's monthly Teen Arts Council (TAC) meet.

Teens will learn about different local species of pollinators, the importance of pollinators in the ecosystem, how to support pollinators and how to build pollinator habitat from Courtny Rearick of Humane Indiana Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center. Teens will then design and build an environmentally friendly home for our local pollinators.

This project was funded by a grant from the Tuholski & Oberlie Environment & Arts Fund for Youth.

LCA's TAC meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m., and snacks and all materials are provided. Monthly TAC meets are always free and open to local teens, but registration is required. Teens can register by contacting LCA's education director, Nelsy Marcano, at nmarcano@lubeznikcenter.org or 219.874.4900.

TAC connects creative teens from the region with unique and enriching arts experiences. TAC is designed to support its members in developing personal artistic identities while refining skills through practice and experimentation. Guided by local artists and LCA staff, TAC members network with the community while developing leadership roles. Teens also participate in trips to educational and arts-centered sites aimed towards creating a professional artistic vision and understanding.
