Teddy Arrives at Center for Hospice Care

Center for Hospice Care's new therapy dog, Theodore H. Bode (affectionately known as Teddy), arrived at our Mishawaka campus at the end of January. He was introduced to the team at our January all-staff meeting – and it was love at first sight!

Upon arrival, Teddy went straight to work, getting to know his handlers and making sure they were properly trained. Okay, maybe it was the team from Ultimate Canine that did the actual training, but Teddy was an integral part of it! Four CHC employees, including CEO John Mastrojohn, have been certified as part of the therapy dog team. Kristiana Donahue, volunteer services manager, is Teddy's primary handler and will take him home on nights and weekends (yes, even therapy dogs need a weekend off).

With training complete, Teddy has begun to visit with patients and their families as he continues to get acclimated to his new home. He has quickly become an invaluable member of the CHC team!
