This month’s spotlight features Missy Ostertag, CU Mortgage Service Loan Officer. “Missy joined the CU Mortgage Service team in April 2021 and in a short time, has shown tremendous success in providing a great mortgage experience to all her clients. Her positive attitude spreads throughout the office and entire team. We are grateful to have Missy on the team!”– Kim Carpenter, CU Mortgage Service Manager. Recently, we sat down with Missy to learn a little more about her and how she enjoys her free time.
What do you like about your role at Tech CU?
I think that just about everyone that works in a sales/service role will say “helping my members”, and I couldn’t agree more. In my 20+ career in retail banking, I have had a lot of opportunities to move up the ladder and each time I did, I got further away from working with clients. Being in a sales role again is truly a joy, and I can honestly say I have never had more fun and enjoyed a role more than I have this one.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Apparently turning 40 is when you begin enjoying the hobbies your parents enjoyed – who knew? I enjoy gardening, collecting plants, hiking local trails, and Sunday afternoon naps! And of course, time with my husband and three daughters.
What is one thing on your “bucket list”?
My family collects sand from our vacation spots. We love to dream of the places we want to get sand from next – Hawaii, Greece, and Cozumel are all on our list.
What about becoming an adult caught you completely off guard?
That you never quite feel like one? Like, my age says “I’m adult.” But my willingness to fold the laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer does not.
