To add to the already incredible team of doctors that makes up Northwest Medical Group, the Northwest Health team recently welcomed Dr. Taylor Coleman, Dr. Andrew Martin, and Dr. Owen Young to continue to carry out the mission of serving its communities.
Dr. Taylor Coleman, M.D., a board-certified general surgeon, is an experienced physician who has mastered a range of procedures over the years. His craft has included robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery techniques that not only demonstrate his effective skills as a surgeon but also represent his willingness to learn new technologies to best serve and enhance the wellbeing of his patients.
With areas of interest like hernia repairs, foregut and biliary surgery, colorectal surgery, and also breast, thyroid, and parathyroid surgeries, Coleman’s expertise covers all facets of general surgery.
A Chesterton native, Coleman graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and then completed his general surgery rotation at the University of Illinois Chicago. It was here that Coleman’s foundation in the surgery practice took root and has had a lasting impact on his current career.
Dr. Owen Young, M.D., a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon who attended the University of Rochester in New York for his medical degree, is skilled within the realms of both minimally invasive and traditional surgery practices. Young completed his surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Wash., followed by a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County located in Chicago, Ill.
Young has a broad understanding of colon and rectal surgery as he has, throughout his career, remained interested in treating all forms of disease relating to the colon and rectum. Though Young is trained in the surgical treatment of these diseases, he is also a skilled general surgeon that adds to the culture of Northwest Medical Group in serving all patient needs.
Dr. Andrew Martin, M.D., is an experienced bariatric surgeon who will, similar to his colleagues Young and Coleman, undoubtedly add to the culture of care that Northwest Health has fostered for years.
Prior to his transition to Northwest Medical Group, Martin earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, followed by completion of his surgical residency at Summa health System - Akron Campus, and then lastly, his bariatric surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Similar to Coleman, Martin has an interest in minimally-invasive, robotic-assisted surgeries to treat colon and anal-rectal diseases. Martin also performs bariatric surgeries, gallbladder removals, hernia repairs, thyroid and parathyroid surgeries, breast surgeries, and anti-reflux procedures.
