The Purdue University Calumet women’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match at Saint Xavier University Saturday afternoon.
Lexi Cozzi netted both goals for the Cougars (3-4-3, 2-1-1) in the first half, scoring in the 24th minute off of a breakaway from 15-yards out from the right side. Cozzi then added her second score of the game four minutes later, scoring from 25-yards out.
Junior Erika Brinkman (Kalida, Ohio/Kalida/Owens C.C.) finished with a match-high seven saves in 90 minutes in goal, while Vanessa Hernandez (Hammond, Ind./Morton) led the Peregrines with three shots, two of them being on goal.
The Peregrines (4-6, 0-3) will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 7 in East Chicago, Ind. as they take on Calumet College of St. Joseph in a league matchup beginning at 7p.m.
