Free choral concert to be performed at Merrillville High School
The St. Sava Orthodox Church Serbian Singing Society Karageorge will be hosting the 47th Serbian Orthodox Choral Association Festival, beginning May 31 through June 2.
Eight choral groups will be traveling to Merrillville to perform on Saturday, June 1, beginning at 12 p.m. at the Reinhart Auditorium at Merrillville High School. The event is free and open to the public. Reinhart Auditorium is located at 276 E. 68th Place, Merrillville, IN 46410.
Additional events during the annual Serbian Orthodox Choral Association festival include a traditional banquet and dance beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Ambassador Banquet Facility and a farewell picnic at St. Sava Orthodox Church beginning at noon on Sunday, June 2.
The annual event is hosted by a sponsoring choral group, and has been previously held in Canada, San Francisco, California, and Chicago.
