SSAA Presents: “Banquet”, A Multimedia Exhibit Laid Out as if a Feast Was About to Ensue

Opening Reception First Friday April 4, 2014, 5-8pm

ssaa-banquetSouthern Shore Art Association will host a multi-media exhibit, “Banquet,” opening with a First Friday reception on April 4, 5 – 8 PM. In all, 27 artists will be contributing.

It’s a banquet, a spring celebration that will banish winter. Begone doldrums!!

Looking down the gallery hall, along 50 feet of tables, you’ll appreciate eclectic table settings of wood, ceramic, alabaster, pewter, glass and textile. Thanks go to Franklin Street's Dove's Tale, Revive Consignment and Hoity Toity Fun Funky Furniture, for the tables. On the tables you’ll see a display of bowls, goblets, teapots, wine caddies, plates, cups and more, befitting a culinary celebration. Even “food” created in glass. Embellishing the tables will be woven runners and painting, photography or fiber art placemat-napkin sets. Footing the table line will be large photos, one a baker in his dusty “uniform.”

Join the artist on Friday, April 4, during the free Opening Reception with refreshments and snacks at the Southern Shore Art Association Gallery from 5 – 8 pm, during the monthly "First Friday" celebration in Michigan City’s historic Uptown Arts District.

"Banquet" can be viewed from April 4 – April 27 at the Southern Shore Art Association Gallery, 724 Franklin Street, Michigan City. Gallery open hours Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5 pm (CST).
