In addition to the meet and greet, the May 29th celebration will also feature a parade of the boats, live entertainment, and food and drinks.

And back by popular demand, the first Friday of June kicks off La Porte’s own Downtown Movie Night with a family-friendly screening of Pixar’s “UP”. And this year, La Porte is taking Downtown Movie Night to a whole new level with free bounce houses for the kids to enjoy and free popcorn; in addition to numerous other food vendors.

Laporte-2But what would a screening of “UP” be without balloons? And a whole lot of them! Which is why this June’s movie night will also feature a balloon launch, with thousands of balloons to be let go before the movie.

The movie will be shown on a giant screen in the Herald-Argus parking lot and will begin at dusk. Guests are encouraged to come early to set up their spots and chairs as the parking lot usually fills up quickly.
