South Shore Clean Cities Inc., a nonprofit organization sponsored through a U.S. Department of Energy program, will hold its 2014 annual meeting Feb. 18 to celebrate the successes of its members and partner organizations, and recognize top alternative fuel users, distributors and supporters in northern Indiana.
The event will be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CST at Avalon Manor Banquet Center, 3550 E. U.S. 30, Merrillville, Ind.
Carl Lisek, executive director for South Shore Clean Cities, said officials from NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company) will be on hand to share important information.
"NIPSCO has chosen the South Shore Clean Cities annual meeting to announce an exciting incentive program designed to promote the use of electric vehicles across northern Indiana," he said.
More than 200 people and 22 vendors attended last year's event.
"The 2014 meeting will be a great opportunity for community members, leaders and industry partners to network," said Lisek, who also is vice president at Purdue Research Park-based Legacy Environmental Services Inc. "They also can share ideas that will help South Shore Clean Cities and its supporters move toward a more widespread adoption of alternative fuels."
