South Central 8th grader Isabelle Auskalnis, 11th grader Lucas Cauley, and 12th grader Hannah Howell have been selected Students of the Month for January.
Isabelle Auskalnis is the daughter of Michelle Harmon of Wanatah and Joseph Auskalnis of Valparaiso. She was selected by social studies teacher Steve Nedza, who stated that Isabelle is a great leader and a hard worker.
Lucas Cauley is the son of Lisa and Gary Cauely of Wanatah. He was selected by Industrial Technology teacher John Bailey. Mr. Bailey stated that Lucas is always eager to help and is admirable for his traits of honesty and integrity.
Hannah Howell is the daughter of Irene and Nathan Howell of Wanatah. She was selected by English teacher Denise Barkow, who selected Hannah because she is a high achiever at school, is active in sports, and is extremely involved in the community.
The Student of the Month program recognizes young people at South Central who are role models, leaders, and dedicated and conscientious students. Our selected students are motivated leaders and role models for the school and community, set a positive example by word, deed, and appearance, have a positive attitude, and set a positive example for academic achievement in classroom studies.
