Michigan City High School students in Lucas Snyder's World History classes arrived at school last week with shields in hand -- the culmination of a unit on the Middle Ages.
After researching their family history, the students created shields depicting their relatives' country of origin, religion, and occupations, along with several elements representing themselves.
"The project was a very creative way of showing and presenting family history, and some little fun facts about each student as well," said sophomore Albesa Schliephake.
